We could not imagine any other way to raise a family than on the farm.  Each day we are responsible for farm chores, animal care and daily maintenance. This environment provides opportunity for our children to develop life skills, not be afraid to get dirty, jump in and help, work hard, and take risks. I am grateful every day for this ‘simple’, yet busy life we live.

Our primary project on the farm the past several years has been to purchase and/or breed quality genetics.  This keeps us busy traveling the state and country learning strategies and techniques to better our flock.  As part of a 4H project the kids show (or exhibit) livestock at local, state, and national events and expos where certain traits and genetic standards are judged based on their specific breed.  This leads to continual learning and training to meet industry standards.

On the farm we grow a variety of produce year around.  Growing our own vegetables provides a healthier, homegrown, chemical free food that often the conventional system cannot provide.  Over time we began adding this as a new service to our current customers by selling vegetable and flower seedlings, as well as fresh produce.  Recently we have added growing and selling flowers from the greenhouse by the pot and fresh cut from the garden.
